The Power of Us: Connection, Community, and a Little Summer Vibe

There was special energy in the room at our Summer Vibes for Coaches: The Power of Us luncheon in Lawrenceville, NJ.

We started by setting an intention: to embody a coaching mindset and create a space grounded in our IDEAS principles, where every person feels seen, heard, respected, and diversity of every kind is welcomed.

The room was filled with colleagues, current and past Board members, sharing, and creating possibilities for impact. That is the Power of Us. No packed agenda. Conversations, table topics, Recharge Cards, Post-it reflections, laughs, and good food. Our cookie tradition from The Gingered Peach Bakery continued, thanks to Jeremy Kestler’s pickup!

Coaching can feel isolating. We spend so much time holding space for others that we also need space to recharge our own batteries. Summer Vibes reminded us we don’t have to do this alone.

Coaches shared resources, uncovered common ground, and stepped forward through volunteering, Board service, and helping shape ICF NJ’s future. One message came through loud and clear: “We need more of this.” More connection. More in-person time. More opportunities to talk, listen, get to know our community, and recharge.

We left with one question: What’s one connection you’ll strengthen, one action you’ll take, or one way you’ll help expand our impact?

Let’s build on the momentum through Coffee with Coaches over the next few months and Coachesgiving on November 12th!

Until then, stay connected and keep your coaching battery charged! - Dorisse & Ellen Wagner, Vice President, Membership
