About the Presenter:

From her start as a classroom aide and autism therapist to facilitating graduate-level courses on Universal Design for Learning to Harvard's Mind, Brain, Education program, Annabel Furber developed expertise in executive function skill strategies, neurodiverse learning development, and leveraging educational technology. She has worked at the intersection of neuroscience and education as a researcher, instructional designer, content developer, instructor, mentor, and coach across diverse settings and age groups for the past 20 years.

About the Facilitator:

Laura Thoresen, PCC, is the owner of Laura Thoresen LLC.  She is a former educator who completed the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance at Rutgers University and received her Professional Coach Certificate from the International Coaching Federation. Prior experience includes almost two decades of experience working with students in public schools. She has held the positions of School Psychologist, Principal, Director of Student Services and Director of Special Services.

Laura has worked as an Executive Function Coach for primarily college and grad students as well as emerging professionals and veteran professionals. This has afforded her a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding coaching and working with individuals with various backgrounds and challenges/goals.

Laura graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelors of Arts and Masters Arts in General Theoretical Psychology and received her NJ State certificate as a School Psychologist.  As a lifetime learner, Laura attended and graduated from Caldwell College where she received her second Masters in Educational Supervision and Administration. She later received her NJ State certificate as a Principal. Laura is also a mentor for the New Jersey Principal Supervisor Association Leader to Leader Program where she assists new administrators enter their new positions and learn to navigate their new job and challenges that they will face.  Laura, in association with NJPSA, develops and presents professional development programs for school districts within New Jersey.
